Discover the Charm of Oak Creek: A Scenic Stop in Arizona Wine Country

Nestled along the winding curves of Page Springs Road, just 11 miles northeast of Sedona, Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery is more than a stop — it’s a destination. Whether you’re heading into Sedona for a red rock adventure or making your way home from a day of exploration, our relaxed, pet-friendly patio and tasting room offer the perfect break. With a laid-back vibe, stunning vineyard views, and a wine list that proudly reflects the spirit of Arizona, Oak Creek is where locals and travelers alike come to sip, savor, and stay a while.

A Hidden Gem Along Page Springs Road

The Verde Valley wine region is steadily gaining acclaim for its unique terroir, approachable atmosphere, and innovative winemakers. Oak Creek Vineyards is right in the heart of it, located on Page Springs Road alongside three other celebrated wineries. This charming stretch of vineyards invites exploration and comparison, offering guests a rare opportunity to experience a diversity of winemaking styles all within walking or short driving distance.

But what makes Oak Creek stand out is more than location — it’s the vibe.

Here, wine is less about pretense and more about pleasure. Our tasting room feels like home, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages visitors to take their time. Families, wine enthusiasts, casual sippers, and even four-legged companions are all welcome on our patio, where good wine and good company meet under the Arizona sun.

A Vineyard Rooted in Arizona’s Landscape

Established in 2002, Oak Creek Vineyards has proudly grown alongside the expanding Arizona wine scene. Producing nearly 3,000 cases of wine annually, we specialize in both red and white varietals that highlight the character and climate of our region.

At 3,400 feet elevation, the vineyard sits in the shadows of House Mountain, an ancient shield volcano that contributes to the unique geology of the area. Our soil is a rich mix of volcanic ash, loam, and gravel — ideal for growing grapes that are robust, complex, and expressive of the land.

Just 500 feet away flows the namesake Oak Creek — one of the few natural, year-round water sources in Arizona. The proximity to this waterway, combined with our elevation and microclimate, helps create ideal growing conditions. Warm days ripen the fruit, while cool nights preserve acidity, allowing our winemakers to craft balanced wines that speak to the desert's dynamic beauty.

A Place That Feels Like Home

Our tasting room is designed with one goal in mind: to make wine approachable, enjoyable, and memorable. No stuffy rules, no pressure — just friendly faces and exceptional wines served in a space where you can kick back and relax.

Inside, you’ll find a rustic-modern space filled with local art, handcrafted goods, and of course, our selection of estate wines. Outside, our vineyard-side patio is shaded and inviting, the perfect setting for a flight of wine or a glass of your favorite vintage. On select weekends, we feature live music, turning your visit into an experience that engages all the senses.

We’re proud to be both family and pet-friendly. Your fur babies are welcome to lounge with you on the patio, making Oak Creek a must-visit for dog lovers traveling through northern Arizona.

A Progression of the Palate

At Oak Creek Vineyards, we believe that the wine experience should be a journey — one that evolves with every pour. That’s why we offer a diverse selection of wines that reflect the wide range of grapes grown in Arizona’s high desert.

From crisp whites and aromatic rosés to bold reds and unique blends, our wines are designed to help you discover something new. Our friendly staff is here to guide you through tasting flights, share delicious food pairing tips from our seasonal menu, and explain how our local terroir influences every bottle.

We encourage guests to take their time, ask questions, and explore at their own pace. Whether you’re a seasoned oenophile or just beginning your wine journey, there’s something here for every taste — and every step of the palate.

Explore the Verde Valley Wine Trail

Being located within half a mile of three other notable wineries makes Oak Creek the ideal part of a wine-tasting day trip. The proximity of these wineries allows guests to easily compare and contrast winemaking styles, varietals, and tasting room experiences within a short timeframe.

This cluster of wineries along Page Springs Road has become a cornerstone of the Verde Valley Wine Trail, a scenic route that celebrates Arizona’s thriving wine culture. At Oak Creek, we encourage guests to take in the full experience — make a day of it, talk to the winemakers, try something unexpected, and savor the regional diversity that makes Verde Valley wine truly special.

Events, Food, and Wine Pairing Perfection

In addition to wine tasting, Oak Creek frequently hosts seasonal events, wine club gatherings, and live music performances that bring the community together. Our events are casual yet carefully curated, offering moments to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the fruits of Arizona’s winemaking talent.

Pair your wine with one of our gourmet food offerings from our seasonal tasting menu. Featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, our handcrafted farm-to-table dishes are designed to complement the wines we offer. Whether it’s a light bruschetta with a chilled rosé or rich artisan cheese paired with a bold red blend, the food enhances the flavor journey.

We’ve released our 2021 Barbera to Club Members as an Estate Wine for the first time. You may recall our 2020 Barbera from this time last year. It was truly delicious and we are very proud of it. But even though it was made from the same grape from the same vineyard, it was not an Estate Bottled wine. For those who are interested, I explain below. Rest assured, this Barbera is amazing. Our Club Members are also enjoying, for the first time, our 2021 Estate Bottled Merlot! This wine has been a labor of love and determination here at Oak Creek. Great respect to Adam and his team in the winery for this spectacular wine. As many of you know, our vineyard has had some trying times in the last few years. These grapes grows at the top of the vineyard, exposed to the worst that mother nature can throw at them: wind, frost, drought, birds, rodents, terrible (for Merlot) soils! Over the last 3 years, we have completely rebuilt the irrigation, re-established proper organic fertilizers and pest controls, and are rebuilding the soils to be more resistant to drought and pests. This is our first, and we hope the beginning of many, vintages of amazing Merlots from our very own vineyards.

We are so proud to officially have award winning wines here at Oak creek Vineyards & Winery! We recently participated in two separate international wine competitions. The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and The San Diego International Wine and Spirits Challenge. These are easily two of the most highly regarded and competitive events in the wine industry, with hundreds of wineries submitting wines from across the globe. Any level of recognition is definitely a feather in the cap of the wineries participating. That being said, we submitted our 2021 Select Sauvignon Blanc and our 2021 Sangiovese. The results were as follows.

This is the 51st Earth Day. The mission of Earth Day has always been to mobilize civil action to protect and restore our environment. You can read more about Earth Day 2021 here . To me Earth Day reflects the ability of people to collectively engage to change the course of human impact. As humans, our sheer numbers imply that we will change the earth’s environment in many ways. We must adapt the way we live to minimize the damage we do every day by focusing on living and working in sustainable ways. That is part of our Mission here at Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery. We are building a sustainable business that our families, neighbors, employees, members and customers are proud to be associated with for years to come. For our business to be sustainable it must be productive, and we will take actions necessary to keep our employees employed and our customers satisfied while at the same time finding more cost-effective ways to reduce the resources we consume and limiting damaging wastes we create. There are many challenges, but, taking a lesson from Earth Day by being focused and consistent and working together we can achieve these goals.

It’s a very busy time here Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery! Our grapes are waking from their winter nap; our team is preparing for a busy grape-growing season; we are continuing to make big improvements around the vineyard, and we are all finally shedding our yearlong COVID-19 inspired hibernation. With the spring weather ranging from heavy frost and snow overnight to balmy shirtsleeves weather during the day we are anxious for the safety of our buds. We look forward to bud break any day, and alternately fear the buds will be damaged by freezing temperatures.
